  • If you’re working on any kind of academic paper, or project involving writing, this is the service for you. I’ll work with you for just the proofreading or for any amount of the writing process. Average Rates for Editing Services

  • Rates for Beta Reading

    Beta Reading is the most basic service I offer, so it isn’t expensive. I will read and give feedback on your work for $25 per 50,000 words.

  • Rates for Developmental Editing

    Developmental Editing is the most comprehensive kind of editing you can purchase. This is because I will likely do some copy and line editing as well as some proofreading in addition to the structural edit. This type of editing is usually charged by the word, so my rate for this service is $0.02/word.

  • Proofreading & Copy Editing

    Proofreading & Copy Editing is a pretty simple process. Since I don’t have to worry about content at all and I’ll just be making changes to increase readability and adherence to grammar and spelling rules, this service runs for $0.01/word.

  • Rates for Academic Editing

    Because Academic Editing can vary so much, I don’t have a rate that goes by the word for this. This is because services can range from just a proofread before you turn it in to a full service coaching where I essentially walk you through the process of writing your paper in addition to editing and giving feedback. Because of the variety and inclusivity of this service, word count can be hard to determine, so I charge $9/hour for this service.

  • Note about rates...

    These are average rates only. Perhaps you have a really tight budget but still want to hire an editor or perhaps you have a particularly difficult project that will take extra effort on my part. Those kind of things can influence the final price we agree upon, but these numbers are a good jumping off point. My goal is to give you a great editing experience for a price you can feel good about. Happy writing!
